Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in an embedded search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. That company processes the query and supplies its results. Our systems do not retain or record those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages sent by email may be kept so our team can respond. We do not disclose the message outside the organization unless a binding legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page causes the servers to receive standard technical information about the visit:
- Page-view timestamps
- Device type and operating system
- The referring site, when available
- Browser name and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They and analytics services help produce grouped traffic measures, such as popular pages and points where visits end. A browser can reject cookies through its settings, though blocking them may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Sending a search query to the selected partner tool
- Finding and repairing technical faults
- Measuring which pages are useful or need revision
- Operating the site and maintaining load performance
- Displaying advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Coleman County Criminal History does not keep, combine, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Coleman County Sheriff, court clerks, Texas DPS, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into third-party files or consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. A provider's own privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices govern the data entered into its tool. We do not control those policies. Review the provider's terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to court portals, sheriff pages, Texas agency sites, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a reader leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
- Outside search providers handling submitted queries
- Advertising networks placing material on the pages
- Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet service is completely secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights can differ by residence and applicable law. Public records held by Coleman County offices are governed separately by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while Texas criminal-history confidentiality begins with Government Code Section 411.083. Subject to the law that applies to a request, a user may:
- Opt out of certain processing where the law grants that choice
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask for access to personal information held about them
- Seek deletion when the governing law requires it
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. A new version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date, so readers should review it periodically.
